As some (or all) of you may know, the Spore Creature Editor came out yesterday - well, it was supposed to. The EA Store has yet to deliver the full product. However, they have released the free demo, which , might I add, is amazing. I've made nine creatures already.
Here are my favorite five:

Anyways, if you don't know what Spore is, then shame on you. It's a game based on evolution. You start out as a single tiny cell in a tide pool. As you go around eating things smaller than you, you get bigger and eventually lay an egg. From there, you go into the editor, where you can edit your cell into anything you'd like. Then you go back into the tide pool. This continues until you eventually guide your creature onto dry land as a macroscopic creature. Once on land, you must guide your now-multi-celled creature towards food, it's food source depending upon what kind of mouth you give it - whether it be carnivore, herbivore, or omnivore. You must also avoid animals that seek to eat you. Once you think you have earned enough DNA point - the currency of the editor - you must seek a mate. You do this by using a mating call. Once you've found one and mated, you and your mate must protect the ensuing eggs until they hatch. Once they do, you have access to the editor again. If you want your creature to be faster, use better feet. If you want it stronger, give it weapons. Or just make it a different color, if that's what you're after. This continues until your creatures have advanced enough to use tools, at which time they will form a tribe. Now, you control the entire tribe and compete against other tribes. When you have accumulated enough tribe members and/or defeated enough other tribes, your creatures advance to the city level, at which point they build vehicles. Now you must defeat the other cities and gain control of the entire planet. Once you have done this, and you have made enough scientific advances, your creatures can design and build a spaceship. This is where the real fun begins.

This one is older and more out-of-date, but also more in-depth. This video got me excited about Spore:

This is newer, but less-in-depth. It's more of a teaser:
